Biography

Anabela Cardoso is a retired Portuguese senior career diplomat and a long-term experimenter in Instrumental Transcommunication. Born in Crato, Alentejo, Portugal, she studied Germanic Philology at the Faculty of Letters, Classical University of Lisbon, and was awarded a Doctor of Public Service honoris causa by Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island.

Her diplomatic career began in 1976. She served in posts including Providence, New Delhi, Tokyo, Lisbon, Galicia, and Lyon, and is noted in her curriculum vitae as the first woman to hold a Portuguese diplomatic post outside her country.

Dr. Cardoso began experimenting with ITC in 1997. Her work includes EVP and Direct Radio Voice experimentation under controlled conditions, public reporting of results, and sustained international engagement with psychical research and the survival hypothesis. In 2000 she founded the ITC Journal, an English-language publication with an international editorial board of scientists and researchers. In 2005 she founded the ITC Journal Research Centre in Galicia, Spain.

Her published work includes Electronic Voices: Contact with Another Dimension?, Electronic Contact with the Dead: What Do the Voices Tell Us?, Glimpses of Another World, Impressions and Reflections of an EVP Operator, and Friedel's Conversations with the Dead, her work on Friedrich Jurgenson, pioneer of EVP.
