The Paranormal Initiative - Applied Paranormal Research and Studies is being developed to advance professional standards in paranormal investigation through education, research, ethics, truth, honor, and integrity.
What began as a way to support better investigation, documentation, and evidence review has grown into a broader research and education initiative. Today, our work focuses on responsible paranormal investigation, EVP and ITC research, equipment literacy, environmental awareness, historical inquiry, field methodology, technology development, and professional reporting.
Through collaboration, education, and continual learning, we strive to provide investigators, researchers, and enthusiasts with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to conduct thoughtful, well-documented, and responsible investigations.
The Professional Advisory Board exists to help guide the quality, ethics, direction, and usefulness of The Paranormal Initiative. It is not designed to control the paranormal community, dictate a single investigation style, or replace the work of independent teams.
Advisory members provide experience, perspective, subject-matter knowledge, field insight, and honest feedback. Their role is to help strengthen educational materials, clarify terminology, review broad standards, identify weak claims or missing context, support responsible public communication, and encourage collaboration across different areas of paranormal study.
The board also helps keep the Initiative from becoming a one-person viewpoint. As the project grows, advisory members and contributors can help shape resources, suggest improvements, submit research, review ideas, and bring practical knowledge from investigation, technology, history, evidence review, consciousness studies, EVP, ITC, ethics, and public education.
The Professional Advisory Board helps guide The Paranormal Initiative across connected areas of investigation, research, education, technology, ethics, and public communication.

Todd Wayne is a paranormal investigator, researcher, educator, lecturer, and technology developer with more than three decades of experience exploring anomalous claims, field investigation, and the public understanding of paranormal research.
Through Somerset Paranormal Research Society, Todd has spent years involved in field investigation, case review, public education, community engagement, and paranormal research. His work has included residential cases, historic locations, educational outreach, team leadership, evidence review, and conversations with people trying to make sense of unusual experiences.
Through The Paranormal Initiative, Todd continues that work on a broader scale by developing research resources, educational materials, reference tools, field articles, and investigator-focused resources for the paranormal community. The purpose of the Initiative is not to tell every investigator how they must work, but to offer practical tools, shared knowledge, and thoughtful guidance for those who want a more careful and documented approach.
Todd has delivered many lectures and educational presentations on paranormal investigation, evidence review, EVP, ITC, field documentation, environmental awareness, and responsible research practices. His teaching style is built around clear explanation, practical field experience, and helping investigators ask better questions before drawing conclusions.
His work emphasizes careful observation, contamination awareness, historical context, ethical investigation, original-file preservation, and the importance of separating personal experience from evidence-based conclusions. Todd approaches the paranormal with curiosity and openness while also recognizing that unexplained does not automatically mean paranormal.
Todd is also actively involved in experimental EVP and ITC research using the Aetheric Communication System, known as ACS. ACS is a device and research platform developed to support structured audio experimentation, phonetic review, and instrumental transcommunication study. His work with ACS focuses on responsible experimentation, source transparency, contamination awareness, repeatable review methods, and cautious interpretation of voice-like material.
Todd's overall goal is to help paranormal research become more collaborative, better documented, and easier for serious investigators, researchers, and curious learners to understand. His work brings together field investigation, team leadership, public education, historical research, technical experimentation, and a long-term commitment to honest inquiry into the unknown.
Roni Healan, a native of Savannah, Georgia, is a lifelong Sensitive and Empath with more than 25 years of experience researching and investigating the paranormal.
Her journey into the unexplained began in 1979 at the age of twelve, when she first experienced vivid visions and dream communications from deceased family members. This profound early connection to the spirit world deepened after relocating with her mother from Florida back to Savannah, where she encountered full-bodied apparitions and frequent spiritual visitations.
Drawn to locations rich in history and energy, Roni spent much of her youth exploring Savannah’s famed Bonaventure Cemetery, where she found a sense of calm and familiarity rather than fear. As a Sensitive, she recognizes Savannah as a place where spiritual presence is deeply interwoven into everyday life, offering continuous insight and experience.
Over the years, Roni has been an active member of multiple paranormal investigation teams and has explored well-known locations including Ashmore Estates in Illinois, Poasttown Elementary in Ohio, the historic Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louisville, Kentucky, Fort Pulaski on Tybee Island, and the Tybee Island Museum in Savannah, Georgia.
Her work also extends into private investigations across Savannah, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania. In addition to formal investigations, Roni has personally experienced paranormal activity in Pennsylvania, further expanding her firsthand understanding of spiritual phenomena across different regions and environments.
Now beginning an exciting new chapter alongside her beloved partner, Todd Wayne, Roni brings her knowledge, intuition, and passion as a lead investigator with Somerset Paranormal Research Society and The Paranormal Initiative. She is deeply committed to connecting with others who share similar experiences and remains steadfast in her belief that we are not alone. Through her work, she continues to seek truth, understanding, and meaningful dialogue within the paranormal community.
Michelle has been a paranormal investigator since 2020, but she has lived with the paranormal for most of her life, growing up in a haunted home that, at times, defied conventional understanding.
Over the past six years, she has walked between the worlds of paranormal enthusiast and paranormal researcher. In doing so, she strives to bridge that gap by shedding light on the increasingly gimmicky nature of paranormal entertainment, which she believes can be harmful to the field, while also making the scientific side of investigation more engaging and accessible for those entering the field.
Outside of her paranormal work, Michelle is a freelance lighting programmer and technician. This career has given her valuable insight into production and behind-the-scenes processes, helping her distinguish between what is genuine and what is created for entertainment.
Her work has taken her across New England and across the country, bringing her into both well-known and lesser-known haunted locations and allowing her to encounter a wide range of perspectives on the paranormal.
She continues to refine and expand on current techniques in hopes of removing the circumstantial out of circumstantial evidence.
