Software Use Terms
The Paranormal Initiative develops software tools to support research, education, documentation, EVP, ITC, visual ITC, field investigation, and paranormal experimentation. TPI software may be provided as browser-based applications or downloadable software, depending on the project. Access and availability may vary by application.
Users may access and use TPI software for personal, educational, field, research, documentation, EVP, ITC, and paranormal experimentation purposes, subject to the access terms provided for each application.
TPI software is designed to help researchers organize, observe, document, compare, review, and evaluate experimental material with greater structure.
Researchers remain responsible for careful documentation, ethical use, contamination awareness, experimental controls where appropriate, and the interpretation of their own observations and findings.
Unless otherwise stated, TPI software, proprietary source code, application interfaces, branding, original research systems, workflows, documentation, graphics, media assets, names, and related original materials remain the property of The Paranormal Initiative.
Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their respective licenses and ownership terms.
TPI applications may be made available through the website, through member access, as downloadable software, or through other distribution methods selected for a particular project. Some applications or access levels may be provided without charge, while others may require registration, membership, or another form of authorized access. Availability and access requirements are identified for each application.
Access to or use of a TPI application does not grant access to, ownership of, or permission to copy, reuse, publish, or distribute its proprietary source code unless The Paranormal Initiative explicitly states otherwise. The presence of third-party open-source components does not make TPI's proprietary application code open source.
TPI applications, application packages, proprietary code, hosted application assets, or distributable builds may not be copied, resold, repackaged, mirrored, redistributed, or offered through another website or service without written permission from The Paranormal Initiative.
Except where applicable law or a third-party license expressly provides otherwise, TPI's proprietary software may not be reverse engineered, decompiled, modified, cloned, or used to create unauthorized derivative software.
Browser-based TPI applications may be updated directly through The Paranormal Initiative website without requiring a separate software installation.
Downloadable applications, when offered, may use an update method appropriate to the platform and application.
Features, compatibility, and availability may change as applications continue to be developed.
TPI software may incorporate third-party or open-source libraries, frameworks, codecs, media components, or other technologies.
Those components remain subject to their respective licenses and ownership terms. Required notices and acknowledgments are maintained separately where appropriate.
The use of third-party or open-source components does not change the ownership or licensing status of TPI's original proprietary software and materials.
