A recorder captures sound pressure in the environment. It records voices, footsteps, clothing noise, traffic, HVAC, plumbing, device handling, insects, and room resonance. It does not know which sounds matter.

Log recorder placement, microphone direction, gain, file name, start time, people present, and every known sound during the session. Spoken markers such as "chair moved" or "car passing" protect the review later.

A voice-like sound is a candidate, not a conclusion. Preserve the original file, review copies separately, check contamination, and avoid telling listeners what to hear before independent review.
