Environmental Sensors

Environmental sensors help investigators understand the physical conditions around a report: temperature, humidity, pressure, airflow, light, vibration, weather, and related context.

Why They Matter

Many reported experiences happen inside changing environments. Drafts, pressure shifts, humidity, building movement, nearby storms, HVAC cycles, and lighting changes can all influence what people hear, see, and feel. Environmental sensors help establish what is normal for the location before an unusual event is considered.

What To Log

Useful logs include temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, airflow, ambient sound, light level, EMF background, vibration, weather, lightning, solar and geomagnetic context, lunar phase when relevant, and the exact room or area where the reading was taken.

Common False Positives

HVAC cycles, open windows, basement drafts, exterior doors, heaters, sunlight, moisture, nearby roads, plumbing, appliances, and ordinary building settlement can all create changes that feel significant without being paranormal.
